Siesta Key Coastal Residence
Siesta Key · 2025
A new-build, elevated coastal home designed for Gulf light and Gulf weather: impact glazing, a poured-concrete second floor and a pool terrace that reads as one room with the house.
The brief
The owners wanted a house that opens completely to the water on calm days and closes down without drama when a storm is coming. Everything else followed from that.
What we built
- Elevated slab and stem walls to current FEMA base flood elevation
- Poured-concrete floor and roof structure with a standing-seam metal roof
- Floor-to-ceiling impact-rated sliders across the full west elevation
- Saltwater pool with an infinity edge toward the bay, built under our pool contractor license
- Whole-house plumbing and gas, done in-house
Timeline
Permits through the Town of Sarasota took five months; construction was fourteen months, including a summer of near-daily rain.
